High-quality affordable care now available regardless of ability to pay
Saratoga Hospital today celebrated the grand opening of its new Saratoga Community Health Center, which gives low- and moderate-income residents of Saratoga County their first access to high-quality, affordable primary medical care and dental and mental health services.
Today’s ceremonial ribbon-cutting marked the opening of the new center and acknowledged the successful $3 million fundraising campaign—chaired by Linda Toohey and Steve Sullivan—that helped make the project possible. The 1 p.m. event was one of three scheduled for today at the new center at 24 Hamilton St. This morning, downtown businesspeople attended an open house. This evening, donors to the fundraising campaign will attend a reception.
Saratoga Community Health Center serves patients regardless of their ability to pay and helps those without health insurance apply for free and low-cost coverage. The medical team includes: Medical Director Renee Rodriguez-Goodemote, M.D., family medicine; Alexander Cardiel, M.D., internal medicine; Sarah Fox, D.D.S., dentistry; and Sophia Anna Monsour, D.O., psychiatry.
“This center has enormous potential to change patients’ lives for the better,” Rodriguez-Goodmote said. “For many, the Community Health Center offers the first opportunity to have a relationship with a primary care provider and to reap the long-term benefits of routine, preventive care.”
The Community Health Center is open Mondays through Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are required and may be made by calling 518-886-5600.
