Saratoga Hospital Named One of New York’s Best for Nurses

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, October 24, 2017—Saratoga Hospital has been named a “Best Hospital for Nurses” in New York by Nurse.org, the web’s leading career site for nurses.

The hospital placed fourth statewide in a Nurse.org survey, earning a star rating of 4.3 out of 5. One hundred percent of Saratoga Hospital nurses who participated in the survey recommended the hospital as an employer.

Mary Jo LaPosta, chief nursing officer and senior vice president of patient care and organizational excellence at Saratoga Hospital, attributes the high ranking in part to the hospital’s status as a Magnet facility. Saratoga Hospital was the first in the Capital Region to earn Magnet recognition for nursing excellence and has maintained Magnet designation for more than a decade.

“Saratoga Hospital exemplifies the Magnet culture of excellence, nurse empowerment and, above all, high-quality, patient-focused care,” LaPosta said. “We see the benefits of this culture every day—in patient outcomes and in nurse and patient satisfaction.”

Survey participants described Saratoga Hospital as a “great organization that values nurses.” Nurses cited “great support from management” and said the “hospital is always improving, upgrading and implementing new practices to improve care.”
