Cantina Restaurant and the Saratoga Hospital Foundation
Team Up for Ninth Annual Cantina Kids Fun Run
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, May 25, 2016 – Once again, Jeff and Heath Ames, owners of the Cantina restaurant in downtown Saratoga Springs, are teaming up with the Saratoga Hospital Foundation to sponsor the ninth annual Cantina Kids Fun Run presented by Boston Futures Group on Sunday, June 5, 2016 in Congress Park in Saratoga Springs. The Fun Run will start at 9 AM.
Since its founding in 2008, the annual Cantina Kids Fun Run has brought families together to support pediatric emergency care services at Saratoga Hospital. The Fun Run will continue to also support Saratoga Community Health Center’s pediatric dental care program, and to help families with prescription drug costs.
Online pre-registration closes on June 2. Race day registration will be between 8 and 8:45 AM near the Carousel in Congress Park. Participants will be able to choose from two courses: the ¼ mile run or the 1 mile run. Families are encouraged to participate and infant strollers are welcomed. For pre-registered participants, race packets can be picked up in advance on Saturday, June 4 between 9 AM and 12 noon in Congress Park near the Carousel.
Medals will be awarded to all runners, up to age 12, and trophies will be presented to the top 3 boys and girls for each course; the school with the highest participation will win the “Healthiest School” contest. Radio station 101.3 The Jockey will be broadcasting the event live. Additionally, healthy snacks and kids’ activities, including a challenge course, will be available.
