Dr. Sophia Conroy Joins Primary Care Team
At Saratoga Hospital’s Community Health Center
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y., Oct. 13, 2020—Saratoga Hospital’s Saratoga Community Health Center has added a fifth primary care provider, Dr. Sophia Conroy, to help keep pace with increased demand for these services.
She joins Drs. Renee Rodriguez-Goodemote and Alexander Cardiel, family nurse practitioner Claudina Ashelman and physician assistant Kelly McAree on the primary care team.
“Dr. Conroy was drawn to a career in medicine—and to our Community Health Center in particular—out of a desire to serve individuals, families and communities by ensuring meaningful access to healthcare,” said Rodriguez-Goodemote, medical director of the Community Health Center.
“Like every member of our team, she is dedicated, compassionate and deeply committed to providing the high-quality care that all patients deserve,” Rodriguez-Goodemote added. “We are thrilled to have her.”
Conroy entered medical school after a 13-year career with human rights and social justice organizations. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree with a distinction in bioethics from Albany Medical College and completed a residency in family medicine at Albany Medical Center. She is board certified in family medicine.
Conroy serves on the Public Health Commission of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians. She also is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Wilderness Medical Society and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
