Saratoga Bariatrics Presents Free Probiotics Discussion

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, March 16, 2018—The Saratoga Bariatric Surgery and Weight-Loss Program is presenting “The Guts of Probiotics” at its next monthly support group meeting on Monday April 2, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Embassy Suites by Hilton located at 86 Congress Street in Saratoga Springs.

The event is free and open to anyone who is considering bariatric surgery, has undergone bariatric surgery, or is generally working on or interested in weight loss. There is no requirement to have been a patient at Saratoga Hospital to attend. The monthly support group provides information and support about all aspects of weight loss through various topics presented each month. No registration is required.

Registered dietician Karann Durr, RD, CDN, will be discussing common questions that bariatric patients have about probiotics.  “I am often asked whether or not probiotics are good for digestion or gut floral health before or after surgery,” said Durr. “I will be discussing the benefits of probiotics and clearing up any misconceptions, as well as addressing any safety questions around post-op use.”
