Media Guidelines

• Because the care of patients must always remain our primary responsibility, including maintaining a patient's right to privacy and confidentiality if that is what he or she desires, Saratoga Hospital requires all representations of the media to coordinate interview and photography requests ahead of time by contacting the Communications/PR department. After a request is received, we will quickly determine whether an interview is possible and, if it is, will coordinate the arrangements, including meeting and accompanying the media representative during his or her visit.
• No photos or video of patients may be taken without someone from the Communications/PR department first securing written permission from the patient.
• Saratoga Hospital follows the American Hospital Association guidelines regarding patient privacy issues contained in the Health Insurance and Portability Act (HIPAA).
