An overdose death occurs when a toxic amount of a drug or drugs poisons the body causing death. The overdose rate is the number of overdose deaths per 100,000 population.

Tracking the rate of overdose deaths within Saratoga county raises awareness of the drug overdose crisis and drives community action. Prevention education, county wide Narcan distribution, early detection and connection to substance care are among our efforts to reduce overdose deaths.
