SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, October 3, 2017—Mechanicville primary care providers Dr. Stephen Sgambati and Dr. Lauris Petersen have joined Saratoga Hospital and are accepting new patients.

The two physicians will anchor a new primary care practice, which will be located in renovated offices on South Central Avenue in Mechanicville. While renovations are underway, Drs. Sgambati and Petersen will see patients in a temporary office on Route 9 in Malta, off Northway Exit 13—just 12 miles from their previous location. This temporary location is an office of Saratoga Regional, P.C., an affiliate of Saratoga Hospital.

“Drs. Sgambati and Petersen are well known to the community of Mechanicville and welcome additions to the Saratoga Hospital primary care team,” said Dr. Richard Falivena, vice president and chief medical and physician integration officer at Saratoga Hospital. “We look forward to working with them to continue to meet the needs of their patients and the larger Mechanicville community.”

By joining Saratoga Hospital, Drs. Sgambati and Petersen can seamlessly connect patients to comprehensive medical, surgical and behavioral health services available through Saratoga Hospital.

Dr. Sgambati earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in South Carolina. A graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, Dr. Petersen completed his residency at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady.
