Saratoga Hospital to Offer Free Balance-Fall Risk Assessment

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, October 25, 2017— Saratoga Hospital Regional Therapy Center is offering a free balance-fall risk assessment, “Don’t Fall, Stand Tall,” designed to gauge risk for falls in the home or out in the community. The free assessments will be held on Saturday, November 4 at the Regional Therapy Center at 225 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs from 9 am to 12 noon. The assessment is ideal for adults over 60, however, others may benefit including neurologic or orthopedic patients.

Each assessment will utilize a series of tests performed by licensed physical and occupational therapists to help determine risk. Based on test results, tips and recommendations to minimize the risk of falling will be offered to each participant, which may include exercise programs, simple home modifications, or referral for additional screenings or assessment by a primary care provider. Each screening will take approximately 30 minutes. Comfortable clothes and sneakers are recommended.

The assessment is free, but registration is required. To register, call 518.580.2450 or visit saratogahopsital.org/services/classes.
