Breast Ultrasound

Breast ultrasound relies on sound waves to produce pictures of tissue within the breast. This exam is typically used to get more information about an area of potential concern. For example, if you or your healthcare provider feel a lump in your breast, ultrasound can determine if the lump is filled with fluid (a cyst) or is solid. Breast ultrasound can also be used to check abnormalities discovered during a Mammogram or Breast MRI .ACR Center of Excellence Logo - Breast Ultrasound
