Specialist in Cardiac Electrophysiology Joins Saratoga Hospital Medical Team
Affiliation with Albany Med brings Dr. Alfred Loka to Saratoga
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, November 28, 2018—Dr. Alfred Loka recently became the first fellowship-trained specialist in cardiac electrophysiology to join the Saratoga Hospital medical team, an arrangement made possible by the hospital’s affiliation with Albany Med.
Dr. Loka has extensive experience in treating and managing abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). He sees patients two days a week in the offices of Saratoga Hospital Medical Group – Cardiology at 254 Church St., reducing the need to travel outside Saratoga County for specialty consultations.
Dr. Loka also performs pacemaker and other device implants at Saratoga Hospital. More advanced procedures are done at Albany Medical Center, with follow-up care provided at Albany Med or Saratoga Hospital, as appropriate.

A member of the Division of Cardiology at Albany Med, Dr. Loka also is an assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College. He is board certified in internal medicine with subspecialty certifications in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Loka earned his medical degree from the Universite de Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He completed residency and fellowship training in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn College of Medicine in New York. In addition, Dr. Loka completed fellowship training in internal medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.
